Super fast forward to last Wed, 24th Sept. I realized that i haven even got the tickets to go and catch the F1 Grand Prix, as i found out that i have to be on waiting list, for the grandstand tickets, and also, i need to pay over $1800 for the ticket. I was thinking, it is crazy for such a expensive motor race show. As i was working then, i used my working contacts, to see who could actually help me to get the ticket. In fact i used work time to look and scour for the ticket, via emails -- of cos. Den i saw a colleague -- now a friend/colleague who was sitting opposite me in office, holding what seems to be neck straps and some passes. Upon closer look, it was for the race!!! I quickly ask the colleague where she got it from, and said its from Human Resources, But need to use cheque to pay for the tickets. Got my colleqgue to forward me the mail, to have a look, and to my amazement, the prices were sooo much cheaper and with better seats allocated for us! So without second thoughts, i asked if she could help to pay the price of the tickets first, for the Grandstand ticket at the Padang for the race on Sunday evening. She agreed without hesitation!! OMG! But its not the $1.8K seats which I paid for.

Friday (26th Sept ) I could barely contain the excitement already as it leads to Sunday. At work, i was like super restless.. even thou its not the day which i am watching the race / qualifying rounds. Cos its like 4 or 5 pm, i could actually hear engines roaring down the Esplanade Bridge, which was like super far away from my office building. And it just simply intensified the anticipation tenfold. Even whilst at my Japanese class, in Orchard, i was able to hear the engines... couldn't imagine how loud it would be seating up front and close to the cars.!!!
Sat(27th Sept) Woke up bright and early -- 9am aint that early for a sat? -- Went to help Keith get a nice pair of good Aggro skates, by LOMAX / USD. Saw a pair of skates which i cannot take my eyes off... by Carlos Pianoski / USD / Kizer 2008. Sweet and nice! Heavy duty material and light. And headed down to Wisma to get his phone from the service shop. Along the way, stopped at Paragon, to take a look at Yves Saint Laurent 's leatherbags. Simply gorgeous.
Went home around 1230pm. Pretty early. Since meeting another friend at 3.30pm/4pm, so used the comp, and fell asleep in front of the comp, while watching One Piece. Watever lahh. Too much boundless energy liao due to adrenaline rush from the excitement before watching the race on Sunday.
Managed to catch finish my tv shows. and got a nice good rest, for Sunday
Sunday (28th Sept)
Finally the start to the inaugural opening of the F1 Grand Prix night race. I was there like 3pm.. and thank goodness i didn't buy food from the Hawker Village, inside the GP zone. Food like those regular Nasi Lemak and Chicken rice, were sold at $12- $15, while regular sized cups for soft drinks were sold at $3.50. =.=|| And merchandises were sold at 60 - 130 for jerseys??40 for caps? Thou i was seriously tempted.
There were 3 races prior to the actual race at 8pm. Managed to catch all. And at last, comes 750pm. 8Pm arrives, and HISTORY WAS REMADE, in city centre Marina Bay, Raffles City, .The whole race was a success!! The weather was perfect!! even thou the area showed signs of dark clouds, and a few drops of rain. The lightings was amazing!! The whole place was packed! Naturally. IMO, Words alone, cannot describe how intensity and hair raising, electrifying experience watching the race, 4m distance away from the track. And the engines were screeching the whole time thru, and after the race, my ear was ringing till Monday evening. Well worth watching, seeing how the 2 Ferraris' retired and crash due to their moment of folly, as well as F.Massa who tore out the oil guzzler hose from the hanger and drove off with it, which gave him like a 30-45 Sec delay. Went from first till nearly the last. Super embarrassing. And the crash which happened near the Padang/Anderson Bridge. Truly an eye opener.
Dun worry thou, there will be pics and videos coming up real soon. But its like really too fast to take even a decent shots.. but not until the Safety cars turned up, due to road debris from the car at the Esplanade Steps Premier Grandstand, which crashed into the wall. And also the Driver's parade, where the F1 drivers turn up, in chauffeur -style antique vehicles. NICE!
Will post pics for the event real soon. Cos a lengthy detailed/not that detailed passage would need pics to complement it.=D
Ooh, i nearly forgot. I went skating with Keith today, and he manage to do some beginners' things like stalling, trying out soul grind, and not to mention falling down. Aint as bad as last time. but he told me that the report of the injuries was a fair few. namely 5. Busted left and right Knees. Busted hip and backside. busted wrist and busted right palm. Meanwhile, i shall go and rest already.=D
